Dr. Blake Kerr, M.D.

William Blakeley Kerr is a physician who practiced in the Hamptons for 35 years. He is the author of Sky Burial: An Eyewitness Account of China’s Brutal Crackdown in Tibet, Tibetans Under the Knife, and The Suppression of a People: Accounts of Torture and Imprisonment in Tibet (with John Ackerly). He has been published in The Washington Post, The New York Times, Tibetan Review, Utne Reader, and Cultural Survival.

Dr. Kerr’s first award-winning documentary film, The Angry Skies: A Cambodian Journey, pressured the Cambodian government to arrest Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan in 2007 for trial in an international tribunal with Cambodian and UN judges. After Dr. Kerr’s testimony at the Spanish National Court against the past president and prime minister of China for committing genocide in Tibet, judge Ismael Moreno issued arrest warrants for Jiang Zemin and Li Peng to Interpol in 2014. Five months later, when China pressured Spain to reverse its National court findings, Dr. Kerr made the film, Eye of the Lammergeier, from hidden camera footage documenting China’s torture of Tibetan political prisoners in Tibet and forced abortions and sterilizations at People’s Hospitals throughout Tibet, for the Court of World Opinion.
